At the end of our unit on landforms and bodies of water, each student makes a model of the various types of landforms.
Each student makes a portion of salt dough in a plastic bag. They mix, flour, salt, and water to make the dough.
They make their models using a heavy paper plate as the base. The students label each landform and body of water with a small flag.
The flags are made from address labels wrapped around a toothpick.
After the salt dough dries for a few days, we paint the models using watercolor paints.
