Third Grade Supply List
All Rockets will need these supplies. Some supplies, like pencils, may need to be replaced during the year.
In my opinion, you will get more for your money if you buy good quality school supplies. With paper, folders, and even glue, the brand doesn't really make a difference, but there is a big difference in the quality of pencils, pens, and scissors. For instance, cheap pencils sometimes don't last. Some cheap pencils have broken leads that continue to fall out after they are sharpened. Sometimes the lead is not in the center of the pencil and doesn't sharpen completely. Other cheap pencils have a plastic coating that clogs up the pencil sharpener. "Off-brand" pens and markers seem to run out sooner. Your child will have an easier time cutting with a good pair of metal scissors. The blades stay sharper and the handles don't break. Some cheap school scissors have dull or plastic blades that don't cut more than one sheet of paper.
*If you can't find Fiskars scissors or Ticonderoga pencils, don't worry! Just buy the best quality pencils and scissors that you can find.
*If you buy a pencil sharpener, please make sure that it has a cover to catch the shavings.
